Myanmar Investment Seminar held in Osaka

The appeal of Myanmar as a destination for foreign investment and the potential for bilateral trade was promoted at a Myanmar Investment Forum held in Osaka, Japan, on 1 June 2017.

A Myanmar delegation led by U Aung NaingOo, Secretary of Myanmar Investment Commission and Director General of Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, and including U Toe Aung Myint, Member of Myanmar Investment Commission and Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Commerce and U KhinMaung Yi, Member of Myanmar Investment Commission and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, attended the Forum which was organised by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

U Aung NaingOo encouraged businessmen at the Forum to consider investing in Myanmar with a presentation that focused on the country's new, business-friendly investment regime. U Toe Aung Myint delivered the opening remarks and U KhinMaung Yi delivered the keynote address at the Forum.

U Aung NaingOo; MrTakafumi Ueda, Advisor for DICA; Mr Yoichi Matsui, JICA Expert and Ms Kana Manabe, JICA Expert and Attorney, Mori Hamada & Matsumoto, participated in a panel discussion on the Myanmar Investment Law and Rules at the Osaka Forum.

The Osaka event attracted 150 participants, including Japanese businessmen.
