Training DICA staff in responsible business practices

Posted on 07 March 2017

A series of workshops focusing on responsible business practices are being jointly hosted by the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) and the Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business (MCRB) between     6-22 March.

The workshops, which are being held at DICA’s head office in Yangon, will train DICA staff in a number of investment issues, ranging from why international companies choose particular destinations in which to invest, to appropriate business practices for foreign investors operating in Myanmar.

The training, by a MCRB team led by Director Vicky Bowman, will give DICA staff knowledge of business practices and insights into the way investors think and act. Such information will ensure DICA staffs are well placed to perform their roles under the new Myanmar Investment Law, the Myanmar Investment Rules and the Myanmar Companies Law which will be enacted soon.

The first day of the workshop, on 6th March, 2017, was attended by 35 senior DICA staff and MCRB experts, Ms Bowman, Ms Liya Mo and Mr Martin Jancik.
