The 2nd ACMECS Coordinating Committee on Trade, Investment and Industry, and on Financial Cooperation Meeting held

The 2nd ACMECS Coordinating Committee on Trade, Investment and Industry, and on Financial Cooperation meeting, led by the Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), with the presence of high ranking officials from relevant departments and representatives from other ACMECS countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand, was held in hybrid format at the head office of DICA at 9 a.m Myanmar Standard Time (MST) in Yangon on 6 November 2025.
The opening remarks were made by the Director General U Thant Sin Lwin of the DICA, Chair Person of Myanmar Coordinating Committee under the Goal 2: Synchronized ACMECS Economies and the heads of delegations from Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. Consequently, Director Mr. Perapat Uthaisri of Department of Foreign Trade under the Thai Ministry of Commerce discussed the implementation status of the Master Plan (2019-2023) along with the review by the participants, followed by the sessions under “Trade, Investment and Industry”: “Harmonization and Simplification for Trade Facilitation among ACMECS Region” by the Deputy Director General U Myint Zaw Oo and responsible officials from the Ministry of Commerce, “Building a Resilient and Inclusive ACMECS Value Chain: Digitalizing MSME Operations in Myanmar for Disaster Recovery and Regional Market Access in post-Mandalay Earthquake” by the Director U Khin Maung Kyin from the Ministry of Industry, “Promotion of Investment and Cooperation in ACMECS Economic Zones along the Southern Economic Corridor: Development of Dawei Special Economic Zone” by the Vice Chairman Dr. Myint San from the Dawei Special Economic Zone Management Committee.
Subsequently, under “Financial Cooperation”, Director Mr. Thanakorn Praiwan of the Fiscal Policy Office under the Thai Ministry of Finance presented “Financing for Proposed Strategic Projects”, after which the Deputy Director General Daw Ni Ni Than of Treasury Department, Ministry of Finance and Revenue, discussed “Strengthening Financial Cooperation through ACMECS Development Fund (ACMDF)” and the Director Daw Kyi Kyi Khin Swe of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Myanmar, Ministry of Finance and Revenue, made a presentation on “Enhancing of Regional Capital Market Cooperation”
Moreover, by the Director General U Thant Sin Lwin of the DICA, Chair Person of Myanmar Coordinating Committee under the Goal 2: Synchronized ACMECS Economies discussed the tentative plan to hold the 3rd ACMECS Coordinating Committee on Trade, Investment and Industry and on Financial Cooperation Meeting. Afterwards, the Director General wrapped up and concluded the meeting at 12:05 MST.
The meeting was attended by a total of 50 persons; the members of Myanmar Coordinating Committee under the Goal 2: Synchronized ACMECS Economies, members and representatives from Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand, officials from the DICA which serves as the secretariat of Myanmar’s Coordination Committee.
