SEMINAR ON MYANMAR BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT INDEX(MBEI)

The Seminar on Myanmar Business Environment Index(MBEI) organized by DaNa Facility was held at the Headquarter of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration on 17th January, 2019. U Aung Naing Oo, Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, directors and officials from DICA, representatives from DaNa Facility, DFID and The Asia Foundation attended this seminar. At the seminar, U Kyaw Thu, Senior Economist gave a presentation on the Myanmar Business Environment Index(MBEI) and the participants expressed their views and made comments on his presentation.

The MBEI is a comprehensive diagnostic tool that has been specially adapted to evaluate and improve Myanmar’s subnational business environment. The MBEI will allow the foundation of systematically compare and contrast states and regions on the basis of local governance practices and enable government, business and investors to better understand the local business environment. The MBEI will also help government target improvements in each state and region and promote stainable and inclusive economic growth across Myanmar.
