2nd OECD-Myanmar Task Force Meeting and Related Meetings

The meeting on OECD-Myanmar Task Force Meeting and Related Meetings were held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Nay Pyi Taw on 19th March 2019 with the collaboration of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The objective of the meetings is to review the 2nd OECD Investment Policy Review of Myanmar, to discuss the FDI linkages to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and the land reform process.

At the OECD-Myanmar Task Force meeting, U Aung Naing Oo, Director General of the Directorate and Investment and Company Administration delivered opening remarks.

After that, the presentation from OECD continued the topic on, “Taking Stock of Investment Reforms” by Mr. Stephen Thomsen, Head, Investment Policy Reviews, “FDI Qualities: Examining the Impact of FDI” by Ms. Iris Mantovani and “Responsible Business Conduct” by Ms. Tihana Blue. The task force members discussed the next steps and timeline. The FDI linkages to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the land reform process were discussed at the related meetings.

It was attended by 33 participants including experts from the OECD, representatives from relevant ministries, officials from the DICA and representatives from UMFCCI.
