The Consultative Workshop on Myanmar Investor Grievance Mechanism (IGM) was held at Sule Shangri La Hotel, Yangon on 5th April 2019 with the collaboration of the Myanmar Investment Commission and International Finance Corporation (IFC).
The objective of the consultative workshop is to receive comments and inputs on the policy framework of Myanmar Investor Grievance Mechanism which was drafted upon the discussion at the meetings which were held at Yangon, Bagan and Mawlamyaing.
It was attended by 55 participants including senior officials from DICA and representatives from IFC and Foreign Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Myanmar.
At the Consultative workshop, Dr. Marlar Myo Nyunt, Deputy Director General for Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, Ms. Vanessa Hegarty, First Secretary from DFAT and U Thitsar, Private Sector Specialist from IFC, delivered opening remarks respectively.
Then Mr. Sufian Jusoh, Investment Legal Advisor from International Finance Corporation (IFC) discussed on the title of “The Concept and Benefits of Investor Grievance Mechanism (IGM)” and Mr. Chris Hughes, Investment Legal Advisor from International Finance Corporation (IFC) discussed on the title of “The Proposed Legal Framework for Investor Grievance Mechanism (IGM) in Myanmar”.
After that, the participants made comments and opinion on the proposed policy framework of Myanmar Investor Grievance Mechanism. The Consultative Workshop was concluded at 1:00 pm.
