Union Minister U Aung Naing Oo calls for efforts to improve services after issuing permits for investors

Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Vice-Chairman of Myanmar Investment Commission U Aung Naing Oo met with the Chairman and members of Yangon Region Investment Committee, the officials of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) at the Yangon Region Branch Office of DICA in the afternoon of 2nd April 2021.

          At the meeting, Union Minister said that the Region and State Investment Committees including Yangon Region Investment Committee were reorganized in accordance with the Myanmar Investment Law. He also noted that Yangon Region is one of the most invested regions, and efforts must be made to improve aftercare services for existing investors.

He highlighted that the barriers for investors must be examined and resolved in line with the law. The Union Minister also said that the role of the One Stop Service (OSS) in the Yangon Region Office is very important and should be emphasized for smooth operation. He urged the officials to prioritize investment promotion activities based on investment facilitation.

He asked the Yangon Region Investment Committee to supervise the investment activities in accordance with the law and to review and submit case delays in issuing permits in the region to the Myanmar Investment Commission.

After that, the Chairman of Yangon Region Investment Committee, the Chairman for Yangon Region Administrative Council U Hla Soe made his discussion followed by the presentation of U Myo Khaing Oo, the secretary of the Yangon Region Investment Committee and the director for the Yangon Region Office of DICA.

          Afterward, U Thant Sin Lwin, Director General of DICA gave an overview of the activities of the department.

The meeting was attended by members of Yangon Region Investment Committee, Deputy Directors General and Directors from DICA, and the departmental officials from the One Stop Service (OSS).
