The Workshop on Investment Promotion and Facilitation (Upper Myanmar) was held at Hazel Hotel, Yangon on 20th May 2019 with the collaboration of Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Myanmar Investment Commission, the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), the Department for International Development (DFID), International Trade Centre (ITC) and DaNa Facility.

The workshop was convened to raise awareness of the State and Regional Investment Committee members on policies and strategies for the promotion and facilitation of foreign and local investment.

At the workshop, H.E. Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, Chief Minister for Mandalay Region, U Kyaw Min, Chairman of the Mandalay Region Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Mark Birnbaum, Team Leader of DaNa Facility and Ms. Olga Khomula Associate Adviser of International Trade Centre delivered the opening remarks respectively.

After that, members of State and Regional Investment Committees, the representatives from the Department for International Development (DFID), DaNa Facility and the Asia Foundation discussed the matters related to the Investment Promotion and Facilitation.

It was attended by 100 participants including Chief Ministers, Ministers and Members from the State and Regional Investment Committees, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Acting Director General of DICA and officials, representatives from State and Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry, representatives from the Department for International Development (DFID), DaNa Facility, the Asia Foundation, International Trade Centre (ITC) and UK Aid.  

The Workshop was concluded at 5:00 pm and will continue to 21st May 2019.
