The Workshop on Investment Promotion and Facilitation was held at Park Royal Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw on 7th May 2019 with the collaboration of the Myanmar Investment Commission, the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, UK Department for International Development (DFID) and DaNa Facility.
The objective of the workshop is to provide the officials with an enhanced understanding of the requirements of foreign investors, of the impacts of various bureaucratic rules and regulations on investors and ways to support DICA in responding to its work flow.
It was attended by 55 participants including the senior officials from DICA and other relevant ministries and representatives from UK Department for International Development (DFID), DaNa Facility, the Asia Foundation, United Nations Capital Development Fund and Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business.
At the workshop, U Aung Naing Oo, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and Mr. Peter Brimble, Senior Technical Advisor from DaNa Facility delivered the opening remarks respectively.
After that the representatives from the relevant ministries, UK Department for International Development (DFID), DaNa Facility, the Asia Foundation, United Nations Capital Development Fund and Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business discussed the matters related to the Investment Promotion and Facilitation.
Furthermore, U Thant Sin Lwin, Acting Director General for the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration led the Q&A and discussion session and the participants made comments and gave opinion on the Investment Promotion and Facilitation matters.The Workshop was concluded at 5:00 pm.
