The Consultative Workshop on Myanmar Investor Grievance Mechanism [1]

The Consultative Workshop on Myanmar Investor Grievance Mechanism (IGM) was held at UMFCCI, Yangon on 4thApril 2019 with the collaboration of the Myanmar Investment Commission and International Finance Corporation (IFC).

The objective of the consultative workshop is to receive comments and inputs on the policy framework of Myanmar Investor Grievance Mechanism which was drafted upon the discussionat the meetings which was held at Yangon, Bagan and Mawlamyaing.

It was attended by 50 participants including Deputy Director General from DICA, Vice Chairman of UMFCCI, representatives from IFC and UMFCCI.

At the Consultative workshop, Dr. Marlar Myo Nyunt, Deputy Director General for Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, U Ye Min Aung, Vice Chairman of UMFCCI and U Thitsar, Private Sector Specialist from IFC, delivered opening remarks respectively.

Mr. Sufian Jusoh, Investment Legal Advisor from International Finance Corporation (IFC) discussed on the title of “The Concept and Benefits of Investor Grievance Mechanism (IGM)” and Mr. Chris Hughes, Investment Legal Advisor from International Finance Corporation (IFC) discussed on the title of “The Proposed Legal Framework for Investor Grievance Mechanism (IGM) in Myanmar”.

After that, U Min Zaw Oo, Director of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration led the discussion and mutually discussed with participants on the proposed policy framework of Myanmar Investor Grievance Mechanism. The Consultative Workshop was concluded at 1:00 pm.
