STRATEGY FORMULATION KICK-OFF WORKSHOP FOR CHIN STATE INVESTMENT PROMOTION AND FACILITATION STRATEGY HAKHA TOWN HALL, CHIN STATE, MYANMAR

The Strategy Formulation Kick-off Workshop for Chin State Investment Promotion and Facilitation Strategy jointly organized by Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, andDaNa Facility (UK Aid) was conducted at Hakha Town Hall, Chin State on 17th November, 2017.

At the ceremony,H.E U Mang Hein Dal, Chin State Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry and Mining and Mr. Peter Brimble, DaNa Facility delivered the opening remarks respectively. Then U Aung NaingOo, Director General, Directorate of Investment and Company Administration presented the Private Sector and Investment Landscape in Myanmar: Implication for Chin State.

The workshop was convenedfor officials of the Chin State investment committee and other related agencies and stakeholders to launch the project to raise their awareness and capacity to formulate policies and strategies for the promotion and facilitation of foreign and domestics and to identify the current obstacles and problems related to establishing an environmental conductive to investment at the state and region level and to identify practical solutions to address these obstacles and problems.

The workshop was attended by the total of 70 people including Speaker of Chin State Parliament, Ministers from Chin State Government, the representative from CEC UMFCCI, the representative from the Chin State Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Government Officials from Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, the representative from DaNa Facility and Stakeholders. The second day of the workshop will be convened on 18th November, 2017.
