U Thant Sin Lwin, Director General of Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony of Amata Smart and Eco City which was held this morning in East Dagon Township, Yangon Region.
At the ceremony, U Phyo Min Thein, Chief Minister of Yangon Region Government and Thai Ambassador to Myanmar H.E Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephitak delivered welcoming remarks.
The ceremony was also attended by the Chief Minister of Yangon Region Government, U Phyo Min Thein, the Speaker of the Yangon Region Hluttaw, U Tin Maung Tun, Yagon Region Ministers, Thai Ambassador to Myanmar H.E Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephitak, and Senior Officials from Ministries concerned according to the guidelines and instructions for COVID-19 prevention by the Ministry of Health and Sports of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
The Amata Smart and Eco City is a project approved by the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC). It is a joint venture between the Department of Urban and Housing Development, Ministry of Construction of Myanmar, and the Amata Asia (Myanmar) Limited.
The Smart and Eco Citywill include building residential, office, and industrial properties on its 2,000 acres and create more than 33,000 job opportunities.The Amata Smart and Eco City plans to incorporate green principles and proper urban design to ensure sustainability.
The Grand Opening Ceremony of the Amata Smart and Eco City will be held later.
