Yangon, October 27
U Aung Naing Oo, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and U Thant Sin Lwin, Director General of Directorate of Investment and Company Administration and his team attended the opening ceremony of the "Wilmar Myanmar Edible Oils Limited & Wilmar Myanmar Flour Mills Limited" and the Ground Breaking Ceremony of "Wilmar Myanmar Riceland Limited" in Kyauktan Township in this morning.
The Wilmar Myanmar Edible Oils Limited, Wilmar Myanmar Flour Mills Limited and Wilmar Myanmar Riceland Limited Factories are the joint Venture foreign-owned companies based in Singapore, which produces the ‘MEIZAN’ brand of Edible Oil in accordance with the MIC’s permit.
At the opening remarks, The Permanent Secretary U Aung Naing Oo emphasized that the MIFER and MIC encourages a responsible business environment – and welcomes investment from firms like Wilmar Myanmar. Businesses like Wilmar Myanmar are expected to transfer technology and promote employment opportunities.
The official opening of Wilmar Myanmar was attended the representatives of local and oversea Edible Oil, Flour manufacturers and suppliers.
