Site visit to investment projects in Nay Pyi Taw for investment facilitation

Co-organized by Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and Nay Pyi Taw Investment Monitoring Team, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi, Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Tun Ohn and Nay Pyi Taw Council Member U Zay Yar Linn visited the investment projects in Nay Pyi Taw on 24th July, 2022.

During the visit, the responsible personnel from the investment projects explained about the production and exportation of value added products, job creation status, the possibility of expanding investment in the agro-industry and the need for Agricultural land, the completion status of project construction, the situation to start the business commercially and also presented the challenges and needs of the projects.

The Deputy Ministers and Nay Pyi Taw Council Member briefed on the plans to be supported by the Myanmar Investment Commission and the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and Nay Pyi Taw Council for the operation and further expansion of investment projects. They also provided advice and coordination on the promotion of employment opportunities and the upgrading of workers’ skills and the welfare of the workers.

Furthermore, the team discussed the matters related to the plans for further coordination on emerging issues such as to strengthen the contract farming practice and mechanism, to place the actual need of agricultural land for agro industry projects and to enhance job opportunities for the locals. Besides, they toured the factory’s operations to see the condition of the investment projects and worker’s welfare activities.
