1. Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation issued Notification No.(03/2018) dated January 10, 2018 under Environmental Conservation Rules 55, to complete and implement Environmental Management Plan-EMP for current operating factories under 9 prioritized industrial sectors during specified period of time.
2. Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation also issued Notification No.(116/2019) on July 29, 2019 to submit EMP within 6 months from the issuance of that notification. Notification No.(116/2019) also stated that the factories which fail to submit EMP within the prescribed time shall be penalized in accordance with section 32 of the Environmental Conservation Law or in accordance with the existing laws, rules, regulations and procedures.
3. Hence, Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) would like to inform that all enterprises which have received permit or endorsement from MIC in 9 prioritized industrial sectors are required to finalize and submit EMP to Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation within the prescribed time under Notification No. (116/2019).
